Ann Conkle is a skilled nonprofit communications and events professional who brings a decade of experience to her role as SMMEF’s Communications and Events Manager. In this position, Ann oversees SMMEF’s communications, including the organization’s website, newsletters, printed materials, social media, branding and donor appeals. Ann also produces fundraising events, which range from donor cultivation receptions to events with over 1,000 people.
Ann grew up in Santa Monica and attended University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, with a minor in public policy. She began her career at the Association for Psychological Science, a DC-based trade association for research psychologists, where she started as an Editorial Assistant and enjoyed progressively more challenging roles, eventually becoming editor of the organization’s monthly magazine. After moving back to California, Ann managed fundraising communications for California State University, Northridge and Strength United, a CSUN Community Agency.
